1.    INTRODUCTION:

Biakwan Light Green Initiative (BLIGI) Monitoring, Evaluation Analysis and Learning Team carried out her oversight function to tract key performance indicators and to measure project deliverables using State2 State indicator table on the 25th/26th January and 17th /18th February 2021. This was to track the contribution of each program projected activities Objectives, Outputs, Outcomes and Impact. In the first quarter of the project (December 2021 and January to February 2022) BLGI effectively deliver on it mandated by carrying out the following activities: Two Days Grant Inception Meeting organized by DAI (State2State project), Two Days Planning Meeting with Stakeholders and Local Partners in Akwa Ibom State and Five days Advocacy Meeting with critical Stakeholders in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) sector.

The following were some key objectives of the above activities:

Ø  To realign sub -grantee implementation plan to that of State2State

Ø  To explain some of the key terms and conditions of grants agreements

Ø  To explain key financial and technical component of State2States activity

Ø  To increase awareness among stakeholders on the key deliverables of BLGI in State2State project

Ø  To create a strong synergy  among CSOs and Government institutions

Ø  To identify critical stakeholders and their roles in policy formulation

Ø  To carry out Advocacy visit to Government MDAs, Private Sectors and Civil Society

Ø  To Advocate for stakeholders support

Ø  To share soft copy of the draft WASH Policy with stakeholders

The team after studying her Monitoring and Evaluation System of Planning, Data collection, Making Data Useable and Creating Demand for  Data, developed a simple data collection tool to aid the team  respond to State2State indicator table.

5.    CONCLUSION:

In our quest to ensure that all implemented activities are properly documented, the program team sent in weekly activities plan, Activities reports and progress reports were Key performance indicator are tracked to financial expenditure with basic means of verifications (MOV). The MEAL team uses these as a tool to triangulate with the findings from the field. This process helps to crate check and balance between project cost and financial utilization.
